The office of the Honkanummi cemetery will help you in locating a specific grave plot. We will also help you in matters related to grave maintenance, straightening of memorials and ordering of plaques.
The upkeep and maintenance of a grave plot involves matters that should be checked on a regular basis. This ensures that the grave plot remains in a dignified condition and serves as a place of remembrance for future generations.
The term of possession of a grave can be extended by contacting the Burial Services of the Parish Union of Helsinki.
Funeral arrangements
Funeral services, coffin internments, urn internments, other bookings of the chapels and viewing of the deceased are booked from the Burial Services of the Parish Union of Helsinki. The Burial Services are also responsible for matters related to invoicing.

We will retain the flowers brought to the funeral service until the following weekday. In a coffin burial, we recommend that the flowers be laid at the grave.
Grave plot inquiries
The location of graves can be inquired based on the name of the deceased from the cemetery office or by e-mail.
The location of a specific grave can also be searched for by the last name of the deceased on the Hautahaku (Find Grave) website.
The particulars of the deceased cannot be found from the Find Grave service in the following cases:
- the term of possession of the grave has expired
- less than two months has passed from the burial
- the deceased is not in the grave map database (e.g., unbaptised children)
- for some of the historical graves.
Maintenance of graves
The care and upkeep of the grave is the responsibility of the holder of the exclusive burial right. You can do it yourself or outsource it to the Grave Maintenance Fund of the Parish Union of Helsinki for one or several years at a time. Memorials
The Parish Union of Helsinki has a template for memorial designs as well as guidelines for memorials.
The family members and relatives are responsible for the maintenance of memorials. A leaning memorial may pose a danger to family members and relatives moving about in the cemetery and to the cemetery employees.

Kerb or cushion stones are not allowed at Honkanummi.
Memorials cannot be erected during the winter season.
Extending the term of possession of a grave
The term of possession of a grave can be extended by contacting the Burial Services of the Parish Union of Helsinki. See the Burial Services website for further information on the term of possession.

Ordering a memorial grove plaque
A memorial grove plaque (24X, 33X, 33S, 43X, 79X, 79S and memorial stele 71) is ordered by contacting the Burial Services of the Parish Union of Helsinki (09 2340 6000 or helsinki.hautapalvelut@evl.fi).
The size of the plaques ordered for the memorial grove is 90 x 40 x 2 mm. The plaques are made of brass and their text is patinated dark. The font is Times New Roman. The delivery time of the plaque is 2 to 4 weeks.
The price of the memorial grove plaque is 155€ (incl. VAT). The price will be invoiced together with other burial costs if the plaque is ordered in connection with the burial. If ordered separately, the plaque will be invoiced when it has been mounted. The price of the refurbishment of an old plaque is 155€ (incl. VAT). For carrying out the refurbishment, we need to know the memorial grove where the plaque is located and the text engraved on the plaque.
Ordering a plaque to children's memorial grove 40X
A plaque to children's memorial grove 40X is ordered by filling this form.
The size of the plaques ordered for the memorial grove is 90 x 40 x 2 mm. The plaques are made of brass and their text is patinated dark. The font is Times New Roman.
The price of the memorial grove plaque is 155€ (incl. VAT).
The text will be engraved to four lines and one line can include up to 29 characters. A space, period and comma are included to the maximum number of characters. The size of the text can decrease if the maximum number of characters is used.
We have a limited set of special characters that can be engraved onto the plaque. If you want to have special characters engraved onto the plaque, enter the number corresponding to the character in the form. Special characters have no effect on the price of the plaque.
The form can be returned as an e-mail attachment at laattatilaus.honkanummi(at)evl.fi or by post (Vanha Porvoontie 225, 01380 Vantaa).
